Reptile Rentals Inc. was established in 1980 to fill a huge gap in the industry. Very few people dealt with venomous snakes, alligators and bugs in the movie business and because of this, Reptile Rentals Inc. has become a “go to” company. Reptile Rentals has an unrivaled safety record for the cast and crew as well as it’s highly trained and experienced handlers- no bites, accidents or problems for over 50 years!

The company is based in Thousand Oaks, Ca, less than one hour from Hollywood and most major studios. Reptile Rentals is completely self contained. All permits are up to date with Fish and Wildlife as well as Los Angeles City wild animal permits and is highly regarded by the American Humane Association. The company’s animals are healthier than most people. All handlers arrive well prepared with equipment (snake tongs, nets, boxes etc…) and are ready to work at a moments notice. The company has a long history of supplying large quantities of animals (Snakes on a Plane, Arachnophobia, Lemony Snicket, to name a few).

Other than specializing with animals in front of the camera, Reptile Rentals also offers set and location safety as “snake catchers”. This is a service that is becoming quite important for the out of town locations. Rattlesnakes are prevalent in many outlying areas and can pose a definite threat to the crew. Having a rattlesnake catcher on set helps reduce liability and lets the crew get on with the business of making movies. All snakes are relocated after the shoot. Everybody (including the snakes) goes home alive! Upon request a snake safety bulletin can be emailed and attached to your call sheet.
